* I’m convinced that the “this part of the world” phrase, repeated often, was deliberately chosen to separate us from the rest of the country and thus paint us as outsiders and a lower priority. The policy decisions ($110bn lie, failure to waive 10% match, cutting flood protection funds) bear that impression out.
